Thank you, Vanessa.
Yes, it was a lesson in the resilience of the human spirit. The smiling lady, holding her baby, is one of the many living on the street.
Soul stirring pictures David. All of my interactions with people of India have been pleasant experiences. Not to ignore the challenges of culture, society, and environment but to acknowledge the human spirit can be quite resilient and beautiful if we look without judgement.
Thank you, Daniel.
Not always easy to walk a mile in someone
else’s cultural shoes. Understanding does take time, just as travel broadens the mind
… hopefully 🤔
Dear person, thankyou so very much for such poignant images. Absolutely beautiful. A reminder of the true path that has been manipulated and hidden. Peace and love to you and yours.
Oh.you have come to my Rajasthan.hope you have enjoyed the festival of Rajasthan which is celebrated in month of February by name”Maru-Mahotsav”.enjoy your trip in India because It is county of miracles.wonderful piçs and your experiences in Ind🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Yes, there was much to see in Rajasthan,
from the Hawa Mahal, to the Old Pink City.
We were very fortunate to be in Jaipur
for the kite festival, the day of Makar Sankranti.
We then caught the midnight train to Udaipur (I’m sure I don’t need to tell you, Aruna,
that was an experience in itself!),
a city most exotic beyond glorious 😎

WIDE SMILES…CONSIDERING HOW HARD MANY OF INDIAN WOMEN WORK REALLY HARD TO PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES!
I met a snake charmer in Udaipur 🐍
who said to me, “Just smile, and hand
out much the rupee!”.
But there was no such need, Punam,
for India is a gracious host, and most
are exceedingly friendly 😎
Yes Punam, I suspect that snake charmer
had pulled the fangs of his main attraction.
It takes all the fun out of it 😱 I told him his
act was lacking bite 😎
I had a go myself, Punam 🐍
It was by mutual consent, as the
King Cobra asked politely first.
And I’ve got the pics to prove it.
(I’ll put them up next week).
Ohhhhh!!! David!!! These pictures are WONDERFUL. You captured such spirit and took me right back. Man. I loved India soooo much. And the women are just exquisite. Everywhere You look….the colors! The hair! And the smell of jasmine braided into the hair or the bunches just behind the ear all the time. Lord. And that shot of You in the Temple. It sure looks like a Temple. My heart just exploded with rich, joyful memory. It’s another world. Thank You more than I can say!!! Cheers and hugs. Please tell India I said hello!!! 🤗🙏🏼❤️☀️😊
You are very welcome, Katy. And yes, I sneaked a peak inside Humayun’s Tomb,
in Delhi, just to make sure he was dead. Those Mughal Emperors loved to build
glorious palaces in which to rest.
The Taj, in Agra, was just too much!
I just wish we could’ve stayed longer😪
I figure about a year or two would do
(but away from the big cities, where you
can breath, and see the blue sky 😱).
I hear You. I was there for 2 months and I think a year or 2 is needed. LOVING that Y’all are able to travel for such lengths. It’s amazing and such a gift to read Your experiences/thoughts!!! 🙂
Beautiful photography, David! While looking at all of them I felt as if I were an Indian woman. You let me travel overseas, visit this lovely country with just one post, enjoy all the colors India and its people display, but also its hidden shades. I am truly jealous of all your talents as an artist-poet.
Moltes gràcies, Marta.
Very pleased that you got to connect
with my pictures.
Travelling the Subcontinent was a
most pleasant assault to the senses.
I just wish I’d taken a real camera 📷
These are some real good clicks, sir..
Love the way you captured different shades of Indian culture.. Starting from a bride to getting into the rural India.. I especially loved the school trip of kids to the Taj Mahal.. Reminds me of my school trip there..
Amazing 😊

To Livin’ it up, then! 😉 Given that I am currently five beers drunk (so…. buzzed, given my Viking roots) I can’t subscribe to such an abstemious diet without total hypocrisy, but still, to living! Let us live. Let’s live the shit out of this life! … Yes!
Yes, I was fitting in with the locals going Vegan.
But I did sneak in a whisky or two, and the
occasional Tandoori Chicken Pizza 🍕
once we were south of the border into India.
Liv, I did marry into a Viking family 👍
They only take prisoners for ransom,
as my mother-in-law explained to me😎
Had another browse through. Very sensitive pictures. I love the mother with the boy lying over her thighs. They have such joyful expressions. Really good photos.
Fab photos, David. They put me in mind of a recent poem about a painting of a dancer that I wrote for Droitwich Arts Network entitled ‘Turkish Delight’.
Gorgeous pictures
