  5. Soul stirring pictures David. All of my interactions with people of India have been pleasant experiences. Not to ignore the challenges of culture, society, and environment but to acknowledge the human spirit can be quite resilient and beautiful if we look without judgement.

      1. Yes, there was much to see in Rajasthan,
        from the Hawa Mahal, to the Old Pink City.
        We were very fortunate to be in Jaipur
        for the kite festival, the day of Makar Sankranti.
        We then caught the midnight train to Udaipur (I’m sure I don’t need to tell you, Aruna,
        that was an experience in itself!),
        a city most exotic beyond glorious 😎

  16. Ohhhhh!!! David!!! These pictures are WONDERFUL. You captured such spirit and took me right back. Man. I loved India soooo much. And the women are just exquisite. Everywhere You look….the colors! The hair! And the smell of jasmine braided into the hair or the bunches just behind the ear all the time. Lord. And that shot of You in the Temple. It sure looks like a Temple. My heart just exploded with rich, joyful memory. It’s another world. Thank You more than I can say!!! Cheers and hugs. Please tell India I said hello!!! 🤗🙏🏼❤️☀️😊

    1. You are very welcome, Katy. And yes, I sneaked a peak inside Humayun’s Tomb,
      in Delhi, just to make sure he was dead. Those Mughal Emperors loved to build
      glorious palaces in which to rest.
      The Taj, in Agra, was just too much!
      I just wish we could’ve stayed longer😪
      I figure about a year or two would do
      (but away from the big cities, where you
      can breath, and see the blue sky 😱).

  21. Beautiful photography, David! While looking at all of them I felt as if I were an Indian woman. You let me travel overseas, visit this lovely country with just one post, enjoy all the colors India and its people display, but also its hidden shades. I am truly jealous of all your talents as an artist-poet.

    Love the way you captured different shades of Indian culture.. Starting from a bride to getting into the rural India.. I especially loved the school trip of kids to the Taj Mahal.. Reminds me of my school trip there..

    1. To Livin’ it up, then! 😉 Given that I am currently five beers drunk (so…. buzzed, given my Viking roots) I can’t subscribe to such an abstemious diet without total hypocrisy, but still, to living! Let us live. Let’s live the shit out of this life! … Yes!

      1. Yes, I was fitting in with the locals going Vegan.
        But I did sneak in a whisky or two, and the
        occasional Tandoori Chicken Pizza 🍕
        once we were south of the border into India.
        Liv, I did marry into a Viking family 👍
        They only take prisoners for ransom,
        as my mother-in-law explained to me😎
