From Earth To Mars ๐ŸŒน

Earth to Mars

My husband
is again missing
deep in cyber space
He was last seen
orbiting Mars
whilst writing a poem
Does Elon Musk know
that my X Man
Captain Lex Icon
got there first?
Now I’ve lost all trace!

Is he missing me
somewhere out there?
Hunting and collecting
amongst those
aliens and goblins
in his alternative universe
with their ink tipped claws
as they scratch
each other’s backs
with quotes of wisdom
or worse
depending on their mood
a verse diverse
and often perverse

I don’t mean to be rude
or to sound terse
for it is their chosen food
Regurgitating the past
and masticating the future
with illusions so vast
Night and day
from haunted dreams
to visions of splendour
with all the extremes
in between
his thoughts meander

Is that him I hear
swaggering like Jagger
through my front door?
Or just some rebel
yelling out
No
so if you see him
the one wearing
a snakeskin belt
and a very dirty
old oilskin coat
please tell him that
there’s a launch pad
vacant and waiting
just for him
My poetic delinquent
and runaway stray
somewhere out there
lost in the Milky Way

Mars to Venus ๐ŸŒน

My maiden fair
of perpetual bliss
who’s sweet charms
I can never resist
the course
I must navigate
has already been set
Am I becoming
the cyber hermit
with observations
from a distant planet?

My loving Venus
I am ever a captive
under your influence
The cosmic tide
upon which we ride
has a heavenly permit
It leads me
it keeps me
in a celestial transit
Yet … as I toil
in creation’s soil
a mere human
am I being fully spent
with nothing left
upon love’s shelf
but words hard pressed
like virgin oil
from the ripened flesh
of life itself?
Words put to the test
in the fires of Hades
at it’s chaotic best
then heaven blessed
upon your lips
with a poetic breath

Am I caught
in a cyber crush?
Am I just chasing a rush?
Your sublime happiness
that place
of divinely
satiated lust
for me is a must
I once had my head
locked in the vice
of interstellar ice
Too high the price
and it wasn’t very nice
Is there a peril
in rolling the dice
at a poetic level?
Hand in hand
with you
and the Spirit true
I can withstand any battle

Sweet Gypsy Queen
my true star sign
have you ever seen
all that has been
in one pure drop
from a golden dream?
Have you harvested
a furtile crop
in the wasteland of the lost?
Can you savour
that taste of victory
since counting the cost
with the Saviour
of human destiny?

You know the Word
ever spoken
yet seldom heard
is deep within me
For I am surrounded
by divisive opinions
being spoon fed
to hungry minions
from strange dominions
with seductive
and magical potions
Toxins in the grave
of promises all broken

My reborn Venus
should I cease
and desist?
I am a slave
to your satisfaction
My lonely lover
have I left you
to thirst for that burst
from where true love
forever comes first
In the raging fire
of your desire
I put myself last
Forgive me my absence
In true love
. . . I am ever
your soul apprentice
For your call to enthral
I find so hard to resist โค๏ธ

    1. Thanking you most loquaciously,
      John ๐Ÿ™ This collaboration, with
the prime source of my inspiration,
should prove that I am capable of
playing nicely with other children ๐Ÿ˜Ž
(I do need to get written permission)

  1. You two romantics
    Need a space-shuttle ship
    A go-between wafer
    My spacecraft is free
I’m shut in and locked down
    You are more than welcome
    To use my tethered “Itmims”
To fly from Mars to Venus

    1. Thank you astronomically, Ivor ๐Ÿ™
This Lock Down Ultimatum is a
movie that’s gone on too long!
      Even Jason Bourne would find
this trilogy of tragedy boring ๐Ÿค”
I presume your ITMIMS Is bigger
on the inside, just like the TARDIS,
so we can all fit in? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

      1. Yes, very much like the Tardis…
        Reliable and sturdy
        Capable of reaching the Milky-way
Two years she flew out of Isolation
        At the Geelong hospital
Transported me through a time warp
I touched the ‘rings of Saturn’
And landed me safely back home
In time for me fly to Philadelphia…

  2. Earth plus Mars here clearly equals heaven. A perfect equation. :))) What a wonderful and fabulous poetic lovin’. Way to rock it out, you two!! Setting a ground control example for the Major Tom(/Thomasina) crews. ;))) ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‘Œ

      1. Ha, well I don’t know about superior gender, but inferior distance to the sun perhaps, if we’re talking planets. Either way, she is a good photographer… and with words, she clearly has a fabulous way. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽ‰โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ’›

  3. Loving this conversation through poetry. I do the similar with my husband, only it is generally me ‘orbiting Mars while writing a poem’ or arguing with characters in a story, and him texting poems from work, or us making up stories together. We can both be on different planets though. That’s creative people for you.
Your combined words made me smile in recognition. See you in space. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. A marriage made in a celestial
      creative haven, Antonia ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜‡
      Tis’ true that opposites attract,
but too much opposition is often
      distracting. Most fortuitously,
Linda and me seem to have have
      struck a heavenly balance ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Ž

      1. Well, you are obviously both creative, as are Dan and I. Whatever opposing forces there are, creative understanding feeds the centripetal force of love. May you continue to live well in that cosmos ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Adoring this discussion through verse. I do the comparative with my better half, just it is by and large me ‘circling Mars while composing a sonnet’ or contending with characters in a story, and him messaging sonnets from work, or us making up stories together. We can both be on various planets however. That is imaginative individuals for you.
Your joined words made me grin in acknowledgment. See you in space. ๐Ÿ™‚
