INDUSTRIALISED & GLOBALISED (Redux)

Incorporated Slaughter
The War on Terror
A war that never ends
Paying great dividends
To the shareholders
Of Globalised Murder
A hostile takeover
Tribal and Fundamental
Privilege and power
Seized … never to yield
This world has become
An Industrialised Battlefield

Corruption and greed
Beyond all want and need
The disgrace taking place
Or just a comedy tragic
Driving the Bond Market
Like the corporate capers
Of the Armaments Industry

One man’s terrorist
Is another’s freedom fighter
Truth and Justice
Attacked and blacklisted
By the mother of Big Brother
With a gorgeous
Media makeover 💋

As the earthbound ghost
of Milton Friedman directs
Lockheed Martin perfects
The long-distance killing
Of foreign children
With all the style and grace
Of a bribe on the side
From British Aerospace
Will Trump ever regret
His betrayal of Kurdistan?
(Or the bombing of Iran?)
Leaving once again
The innocent grieving
From Bagdad to Washington
The name of the game?
‘Being Had By The Big Bad’

One fine day
The guilty will pay
For the dirty deeds done
With their weapons
Of mass destruction
All hell for leather
The History of Humanity
Under the jackboot
Of abused power
Seemingly forever

So … get revenge
For the past
Invest now
in a vengeful future
Dare to strike first
The only way to be sure
One brick short
Of a Berlin Wall
The far left … as ever
Left bereft
Of the wherewithal
To free the enslaved
proletariat
The far right
All dressed in white
Hiding in plain sight
Behind the skirts
Of state religion
Scoundrels of patriotism
Incentivised
And amplified
With God on their side
The dog-eat-dog extreme
Where the deranged
And obscene
Is justified
Far enough out of range
Not to be seen
Scanning the big picture
As seen through the screen
Of a Pentagon computer
For some
Long range slaughter
So . . .
In the blink of a crime
Hug your sons
And your daughters
Whilst you still have the time

In the whitewashed West
Ever since the big fall
No matter how small
We are all part and parcel
Of the Big Apparatus
Called Global Economics
A Trade War is just what
Emperor Palpatine wants
For one thing
Leads to another
“Render unto Caesar … “
But never surrender
In the style
Of a gentle Jesus
For that Emperor
He’s just another
Trumped up pretender

By stealth
Sovereignty
And the common wealth
Being stolen away
By a Global Kleptocracy
Just follow
The weaponised money
So be under the sway
Don’t think twice, Honey
Be corrupted absolutely
For gas ⛽️
doesn’t grow on trees
The Price? .. You ask
As innocence flees
The life of someone
Else’s baby . . . Selah
The splintered home
Of some shattered family

If God don’t exist
Why have a conscience?
Be in the pay
Become a franchisee
for ‘Bombs ‘R’ Us’
Invest in the very best
The new & improved
Privatised military

“Nothing Defends Like Offence!”

Don’t Delay
Do it today
Adopt a Mercenary!
Perhaps . . .
A guard for the school
Where your children
Dodge bullets
And learn how to pray?
You have the right to alarm
To cause multiple harm
After all …
This is a democracy!
Best buy a gun?
Better make it a big one!

Be a Pharisee
Of Mammon Most High
And the Dollar Almighty
Then bless the troops
Heading out to die
As the Bull Market
Starts a-running
And history keeps repeating
Those Masters of War
Now dressed as civilians
As the executioner’s face
Is always well hidden

To spark a reaction
Become a lone wolf
Screw loose cannon
Yet marching in unison
To the drum beat
Of a global orchestration
Where force meets force
With bayonets glistening
Along a path well beaten
That leads to
Battleground Armageddon

“Will the cycle be unbroken?”

For a paradise
Never to come
Sacrificing children
Of the great submission
Minions following
A neolithic oppression
Generation
After generations
Under the gun …
Life and liberty
On the run
A May Day Parade
Of action and reaction
Provides the ammunition
For the powers that be
With the public brainwashed
To terminate personal freedom

“Make Our Tribe Great Again!”

A Globalised System
In uniform
Marching to the patriotic tune
Of . . . ‘Big Brother Cain
And His Industrialised Mayhem’

Play it again, Sam
One more time
As the Church
Upon it’s perch teeters
All tied up
In polite correctness
Eating yesterday’s
Stale old biscuits
And still drunk
On yesterday’s wine
Does love divine
Cover a multitude of crime?
If only you knew
What those drones
And missiles do
At least it’s not us
Being blown apart
Thank God it’s not me
. . . or you!

“Thou shalt not kill” ~ God

“But to you who are listening I say:
Love your enemies, do good to those
who hate you, bless those who curse you,
pray for those who mistreat you.
If someone slaps you on one cheek,
turn to them the other also.
If someone takes your coat, do not
withhold your shirt from them.
Give to everyone who asks you,
and if anyone takes what belongs
to you, do not demand it back.
Do to others as you would have them
do to you.” ~ Jesus

      1. Just brilliant, David. Your gift is astounding. I’m beyond moved. I’m in tears and in awe. Touched to my very soul by this. Thank you for sharing.

      1. I approved it! And thank you so much. It’s set for approving first comments because I’ve had some troll trouble in the past. You’re anything but a ‘mere man!’ You are a gifted wordsmith.

    1. Thanks Ortensia.
I was hiding a ‘Scottish Coffee’.
      Apparently I could’ve been ejected
for mixing 12 year old single malt
with Starbucks … Even if it’s only
      5% Starbuck. Still sacrilege.

  1. Hi 🙂

I hope you don’t mind me reaching out in a comment — I couldn’t find a way to contact you privately (you can always delete this comment…)

I noticed that your Gravatar doesn’t link to your blog. This makes it more difficult for others to find you. Please take a look at my blog post linked below, which explains the easy steps you can take to fix this 🙂

  2. Another excellent poem summarizing the state of the world, David.

On the road to Damascus, Saul of Tarsus saw Christ and became Paul.

On the road to Damascus, numerous nations saw Mammon and became clones of the biblical Cain.

      1. My pleasure
        Material treasure
        Induces fear
        And then we compare
        At Mammon’s pleasure
        Our faulty perception of value
        Is what turns society askew
        And creates this deadly brew
        When there always has been
More than enough for everyone all along

  3. This is all so smartly done. I love it. I believe pictures are a perfect way to share the tragedies and travesties of war and mixed with your words, it’s gold.
And then of course I love your picture at the bottom. ❤️

  4. I honestly don’t know where to start – there is so much packed into this powerful poem. Of all the ways we can change the world, I think writing like this will propel us forward in a way we desperately need. Well done.

      1. Just read this again! It’s worth more than 1 read.
Oh, say hi to Bill for me, please!
No wonder I escape, occasionally, into a fantasy world of Art Gowns, Mermaids and Princess Blue Holly.

      2. Bill Browder says “hi” back, Resa.
        He’s been busy renovating and
        redecorated his bathroom so
there’ll be room for both me,
and Julian Assange, to hide in.
Hes gone for the Blue Mermaid

    1. Thank you very much, Chris.
      George Orwell’s 1984 is a
      masterpiece of twentieth
      century literature. His astute,
      profound, even prophetic
writings have definitely influenced how I view the geopolitical world.
The system is an animal farm.
      Let’s face it …
      the jackboot of human
      history keeps on stomping.

  5. Do you think or believe that war is an invention of the right, the white or the west? You’re quite good, but unfortunately your eyes are still closed to the realities on all sides. We are all fodder, your affiliation doesn’t change that. We are all disposable and we are all meaningless in the eyes of the maniacal. From Washington D.C. to the EU, the Pope and the Vatican City to Russia, China, Japan, Australia and the list continues, the secret clans and organizations, all are culpable and all blame the other, for their own actions or inactions.

What would you suggest happen, if I may ask? Have you ever volunteered to fight in a war, have you ever fought for your loved ones to your left and right?

      1. Cheers!
Having little faith in the power
placed in the hands of corruptible
        men, I find myself neither
left wing, nor right wing. For to
fly, it seems, you need both wings.
This also helps to avoid much
        futile arguing.

  6. You’ve captured the essence of the issue: those who believe differently are not to be avoided—they’re to be I’m engaged. And it’s most important to understand where the opposition is coming from, because it allows us to understand their thoughts and provide alternatives

    1. Thanks Kritika 🙏
      Sadly, we are heading towards
      a global Totalitarian Kleptocracy.

      “Democracy don’t rule the world
You better get that in your head
This world is ruled by violence
But I guess that’s better left unsaid
From Broadway to the Milky Way
That’s a lot of territory indeed
      And a man’s gonna do
      what he has to do
When he’s got a hungry mouth to feed”

      1. Yes …
        but by being aware
        of the true situation
        we are halfway there
        to a reaching a solution
        But it’s going to take
        an almighty revolution
        Complete and sweet
        with a love resurrection
        Just imagine
        ~ Me 😎

    1. Thanks for the positive vibe 🙏
In a world ruled by negativity, we
      could do with more positivity.
      Perhaps even a Love Resurrection.
Power is a drug, for those with an
      addictive personality. How come
we always seem to have these
flawed humans in positions of power?
Perhaps it’s simply that power does
      corrupt, eventually. Some sooner
      … rather than later.

  7. A magnificent political chronicle of our times, David. I like how you grasp all these topics of power abuse, war and injustice. Not many people write political poetry on WP. It breaks my heart to see so much injustice and power abuse in our world, just today that I feel especially sad, sad, sad… for you know what is happening in my country. For me October 1, 2017 and October 14, 2019, will mark and are marking turning points in the history of Catalonia and Spain. How can the Spanish state send the police to beat up peaceful protesters, prosecute people for their ideas, imprison them and sentence innocent people to jail. In just one week, four people have lost one eye, each person, because of rubber balls shot by the Spanish police. I never thought this would happen. I am not used to this. I have lived too well until now. I believed Spain was a solid democracy, but no, the regime is turning more authoritarian each day. I wish I could escape and live somewhere else. But we need to lose our fear and keep up going out to the streets protesting peaceably. Our Catalan-Spanish conflict will never be resolved judicialising a political issue. We need international help, mediation. Please, watch this video and make it known to every one. We are not violent, we are not terrorists. It is the Spanish state that is constantly fabricating fake news. This is the truth: https://youtu.be/c04kj0nX688
