. . . by Tanmay Philip

Gurus walking the streets Hungry for lean meat Hungry for treats Standing by the doomsayer For the photo-shoot They need a good contrast “Run fast! Don’t look back!” When the storm comes raging In Armageddon City Screams the mad soul While the gurus offer Awakening For their daily wages Self proclaimed sages Offering medical degrees But never for free While the lunatic screams Flee! Flee! From this city Ignore him please And welcome To Armageddon City […]
Armageddon City

As for me … I’m on safari, fleeing Armageddon City.
Rest in peace dear Tanmay

Interesting.

Good point Ivor ☝️
I have heard that
the Tower of Crapel
was engineered to topple
so it was left
to a humble plumber 🪠
to made it all better
and possibly habitable 😎

I shall ring the bell from my tower on top of Bell Post Hill overlooking Geelong …
“The birds they sang
At the break of day
Start again
I heard them say
Don’t dwell on what has passed away
Or what is yet to be
Ah, the wars they will be fought again
The holy dove, she will be caught again
Bought and sold, and bought again
The dove is never free
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in”

I see
I have no sea
to make my way to around here
Lots of sand from ancient beaches
parched and dry
Scorched earth
Almost Armageddon

Armageddon Cafe
is never far away
and is happy to deliver
it’s caffeinated treats
in a paper tray

Never used either service or straws other than to blow spit wads — the best use for straws.

Absolutely. Inconspicuous and easy to conceal, also.

I like the call-and-response aspect of “Armageddon City.” As for me, I’m staying far, far away from that place.

May God bless
And keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
May you grow up
To be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the light surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
May your hands
Always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
May you stay forever young

Thanks Chuck, but that was all
the poetic work of Tanmay Philip.
I don’t often reblog other people’s
posts, as I find that’s best left to
an expert, such as your good self 😎

sensible one in Armageddon City? 🤔🕶️

Sadly, Armageddon City is all too familiar. I believe we could easily find it on a map.

Sorry for your loss and all of those that Tanmay touched, David! He clearly was an amazing soul and I’m sad I didn’t have the opportunity to know him but I checked out his site which had so much goodness and talent in it. Stay well and thanks for the poem and update in your life 💓 My prayers are with all that knew and loved him. 🙏🏼

Your thoughts & prayers are
greatly appreciated, Cindy 🙏
How well can you know someone
from their postings on WordPress?
Tanmay was brilliantly expressive,
and had that gift to truly connect
with the reader through his poetry,
stories, and insightful comments,
like a search light being switched
on in a storm. Never with any hint
of pretence, or hidden agenda. Just
the offer of a lifeline of friendship.
It is truly sad that such a bright
light has gone out🕯️
