Art From The Heart (Redux)

Let them go
like the words of a poem
line after line
Let them blossom
or die on the vine
Generations generating
like fish in the ocean
There is a true magic
in all of creation
In the hectic chaotic
the synthetic
especially the genuine
Poetry in motion
extracting the ecstatic
in deepest appreciation
for the beauty sublime
of a glorious planet
This gem of creation

The diobolical
and the hateful
feeding at the bottom
hiding in the hollow
with hungry desperation
What are you creating?
Are you
wallowing in destruction?
Are you a living
hopeful grateful?
A loving spoonful
at the top of your game
riding a high
of natural exhilaration
or has this life
of trouble and strife
left you broken and lame?

Creation and destruction
setting the pace
in an expanding universe
A continuous outpouring
throughput time and space
Visceral the experience
a human combination
of both the virtuous
and the devious
The reverential
and the contemptuous
Has Big Business
with a helping hand
from Big Brother Pharma
got you all processed
after stewing in toxic juices
that reduces you
to just another number
blinded to the wide-eyed
wonder beyond measure?
This unmerited blessed existence!

A cry in the wilderness
“Cacophony … set me free!”
given the choice
to purse or reject
the demonic chaotic
or the angelic and gracious
The anarchy
or the ecstasy
That rapturous thrill
when the Spirit celestial
the all in all
deeply inhabits me
as I answer the call
That whisper within
“Blessed be the Lord forever!
Amen and Amenโ€

Beauty is where you find it
The hard to accept
The hard to obtain
The hard to resist
The impossible to explain
For itโ€™s manโ€™s innate character
his fallen nature
to alternate
from one extreme to another
From the poetic
to the catastrophic
having a wayward heart
Art is the expression
the pages written
throughout human literature
ever drawing a fine line
between lovers and haters
between sister and brother
even mother and son
and around all there is
“Blessed be the name of God
forever and ever,
for wisdom and might are his.”

Love is art from the heart
a celestial treasure
that forever shines bright
with heavenly pleasure

  3. You must be proud of your daughter, an amazing piece of art. Also the portrait is extremely interesting. Your words always move me David. What a great piece – this helps to put the insanity into perspective my friend. I have always wondered what on earth people do who do not have faith. I have never understood it but what would be the point. Faith helps us to actually realize the wonder and the horror in everything Severe contrast. Your piece is an excellent example of that perspective and that contrast as well. These lines express it so well:
