  1. Well done.

We are in pain, disorder and huge confusion here. What is unusual about this is the scale of it. Normally, only a portion of the population is witness to this: the poor, the homeless, the inadequately educated; and a certain portion of the racial minorities. Overlapping groups.

Now everyone can see and hear what our disorder is; who is fomenting it; and for what purpose. Sarah

    1. Thank you, Sarah.
I am currently a citizen of Australia,
but I’m originally from Long Island,
New York. Some of my family reside
in the U.S., so I do feel a connection
to the turmoil and dysfunction that
      is the current Trump administration.
      The disruption industry has finally
found it’s spiritual leader, the false
prophet of greed. Their messiah of
      mammon, who’ll make unbridled
      capitalism great again (patriotism
is now just a marketing slogan).
No need for apologies to Senate
      Committees for their felonious
      business activities. No wonder
they all bring precious gifts of
gold to his oval office door.

    1. Thank you, Christine.
Three more years of the most
      chaotic disruption since the
      Great Depression. I guess it’s
hard not to be greatly depressed
with the situation. But just like
      ‘The Poseidon Adventure’, there’s
got to be a morning after, on the
7th. of November 2028, with the
      next president undoing most of
      Trump’s diabolical mischief.
I came to Australia as a refugee
from the U.S.A., so I can relate ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ•ถ
(my father got transferred here ๐Ÿ˜Ž).

      1. Thanks David. Itโ€™s times like this I wish I was back in England (My husband was transferred to the States with his job). Problems everywhere but this seems to get worse by the day and no one stops him.

      2. I’ve recently been watching the
        documentary series ‘Ken Burns:
        The American Revolution’, and
I’ve come to the conclusion that
        George Washington, a slave owner
        and confiscator of native lands,
        and Donald Trump would have
got on famously. The more things
change … just more of the same.

  2. David, I left this comment on the other Davidโ€™s blog. I thought you might like to see it. Your poem was powerful and I loved it.

โ€˜Thanks for sharing this David. The other David did a fantastic job on this. I just got through reading the article on the extra tariffs that have been slapped on European countries because they support Greenland to stay as it is. I am shaking my head. Nothing good came out of the last time a dictator set his eyes on taking over European countries. ๐Ÿ˜ขโ€™

    1. Greatly appreciated, Christine ๐Ÿ™

I just can not believe the news
      regarding Trump’s tactics to win
over Greenland. It’s like he’s no one
with an ounce of common sense
to advise him. But I guess that’s
      been exceedingly obvious ever
since he returned to the partially
      demolished Whitehouse.

  3. A poem so expertly crafted. There is no sense to be made of what is going on in this country. I know that ideally to have us whirling in disbelief is probably their aim- but I fail to see what else can actually be done. He wants an excuse to sic the military on the people- but how do we overthrow- whilst simultaneously avoiding mass slaughter? I do not know.

    1. Very much appreciated, Jodi ๐Ÿ™

Trump is now the high priest of
      the Disruption Industry. We
must abandon all hope of any
      common sense being dispensed
from his golden pulpit in the oval
office. It’s all about the greed of
      those billionaires Trump surrounds
      himself with.

      “The line it is drawn,
      the curse it is cast.
      The slow one now
      will later be fast
      as the present now
      will later be past.
      The order is rapidly fadin’
      and the first one now
      will later be last
for the times they are a-changin’.”

    1. The White House, even the Kremlin,
could do with a Good Samaritan. It
would seem that greed and absolute
corruption has become the norm for
holding high office. Civil service has
become self-service. Or has it ever
been thus? Just now more obvious?
In God we must trust that this current
hateful darkness will surely not last.
. . . Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

“While preachers preach of evil fates,
      teachers teach that knowledge waits
      can lead to hundred-dollar plates,
goodness hides behind its gates. But
even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have to stand naked.”
