Roaming the Never Never
of an ancient and sacred land
where the secreted past
paves over a haunted future
Lingering upon the red desert sand
crimes unforgotten
A voice through the Dreamtime
whispers . . . “All can be forgiven”

Outback Trek: The Hebel Hotel
Been driving since sun up
and it’s hotter than hell
I could do with a feed
and a drink or two
Best stop up ahead
at the Hebel Town Hotel
Outback Trek: Desert Ships
I’ve been kissed by a Camel on the lips
… a baby dromedary named ‘Bogan’.
The Missionary Man
Yes, don’t mess
with the Missionary Man
The best he can
he’s getting on
oven cooking
with that missionary plan
A Poetic Warning
A Poetic Warning
I remember
In a former life,
a time of bloodshed
and strife,
seeking the keys
to chaos and disorder
Wisdom ancient
and mystical knowledge
from the secret agent
up for sale
to the highest bidder
Brainwaves alpha
A flash of white light
and the clap of thunder
Had the drifter finally
landed upon a winner?
But just then,
Bob Dylan came
blowing his harmonica
in a psychedelic whirlwind,
tapping me on the shoulder,
singing a poetic warning;
“With a time rusted
compass blade
Aladdin and his lamp
sits with Utopian hermit monks
side saddle on the Golden Calf
And on their promises
of paradise
you will not hear a laugh
All except
inside the Gates of Eden”

Pitiful Me
Collecting sincerities
like get well cards
after a multitude
of cosmetic surgeries
With the deepest
heartfelt sympathies
a matter of my
private insecurities
Poor poor pitiful me
My lover likes
to make love
late in the evening
till well past three
With abandoned glee
I prefer
to make love with her
in the morning
after a strong cup of tea
It would seem in between
I need to be resting
… seriously
This is why I must try
to keep on breathing
Lord have mercy
on poor poor pitiful me

Two Kinds! Too Kind?
There are two kinds of people.
Those who are forever postulating
that there are two kinds of people.
And those that …
Judgement is a prerogative divine.
The reserve of He who weighs the
hearts and minds
… of all kinds of people.

The Vulture Heavy
The Vulture Heavy
Obtaining + Maintaining
To the manor spawn
The poverty porn
of consumer society
Scraps from the table
amid claims of equality
Globalism …
trumps democracy
riding the dragon’s tail
of a war economy
Remote destruction
local prosperity
Back to basics?
The Minimalist
so fashionable and trendy
Sporting that certain lack
The creed of greed
and the politics of envy
Who can you go to
to overturn
that buffet table?
The nightmare
is in your stable
and the vulture heavy

Curious Aquarius
Curious Aquarius
Aquarius Curious
With the overflowing
from a crystal chalice
I am floating … carried
upon waters living
by the green pastures
Ares upon bended knee
where Leo lies
down with the lamb
What is to be
upon the wings of a dove
what has past
. . . forever
hope , faith , and love ,
the future true
with the Salvation Man
The Ancient Paths
Walking the ancient paths
of my forefathers
to the mountain summit
from a favela slum
Singing a gypsy hymn
petitioning the heavens
for a taste of that
ever loving Kingdom come
Never the right answer
Always the wrong question
Is Christ the key to eternity?
Maybe the baby
has been unceremoniously
thrown out with this world’s
dirty bathwater?
Señorita, señor,
sing for me again
that sweet gypsy hymn
Desperate times
Sacred treasures
Give me
that old time religion
Walking the ancient paths
of my forefathers
