Frida and Me 💃😎

First it was the Mexican painter, Diego Rivera.

Whilst she drew breath, Diego Rivera
was the love of Frida Kahlo’s life
💞
So much so, they got married twice✌️

But Diego couldn’t keep his hands off
Frida’s younger sister, Christina
✋🤚
So, whilst Diego and Christina 🎨🖌️
painted frescoes together, Frida did
a fandango on her toes and danced out
the door seeking a better lover
💃❤️

Next up was Comrade Leon Trotsky,
Diego Rivera’s trotskyist mentor
✊ 🇨🇳

Then off the bench came André Breton,
the Godfather of Surreality. It didn’t last
long, but then again, he was French.
I guess it should’ve been Salvador Dali
. . . as he is Spanish . . .
but he was too busy keeping Gala happy.

So Frida fell head long into the adoring
lens of Nicholas Muray, the New York
photographer, as he busily took photos
turning the artist into a work of art
💃 📸
Nonetheless, Frida soon broke his heart 💔
as she sailed off to Paris and began
an affair with Jacqueline Lamba,
André Breton’s glamorous wife
🤔🕶️

Yet, whilst she drew breath, Frida’s
destination was ever Diego Rivera.
But in death she now comes for me
. . . my Latina Queen De La Noche
👑

I think I could be happy with Frida 💕

Despite what her nocturnal visits . . .

. . . are doing to me 💀
Equally mysteriously . . .

Frida just keeps getting younger?

Like some Mexican jumping
bean Benjamin Button?!
👶

Yet … in the twilight of my dream time
Frida assures me we do have a future
with all she’s seen between the curtains
and the things water has given her
🌊

San Pespi has given our nocturnal union
his necrophilous blessing
🙏☠️

  1. A wonderful tribute David. While she goes through her Benjamin Buttonesque life in your dreamverse, perhaps she’ll paint you the secret of youth and you’ll start growing younger too. Just when I think you’ve run out of creativity, the Redpath metaverse expands. You never cease to amaze me with your unique blog posts. Tbh I had to google Frida Kahlo. I know zilch about the fine arts except for Jackson Pollock and Salvatore Dali (who certainly wasn’t French 😋 ).

    1. I don’t mean to baguette the French, Nitin.
That was just me taking down dictation 😎
Thanks for traversing the minutia of my
      metaperverse. Without Multiple Michael’s
refurbished artwork 🖼️ there wouldn’t be
      much to look at.

  2. Ah, David she was a complicated woman (as most woman are). She was indeed like a Matryoshka Doll multiples of herself.
❤️‍🩹 I love her work however I always have this underlying urge to use my tweezers. 🫢. Have a good day love. 💙

    1. ¡Muchas gracias! 🙏 💛
You’ve tweezered out a flash of
      inspiration for me ⚡🤔🕶️
A post all about a notorious hirsute
grooming cult led by Big Blue the
Muppet, a k.a. ‘The Cookie Monster’,
      who smuggles exfoliated babushka
      dolls, fully loaded with cookies,
      from the Ukraine into Russia,
      thus undermining the Russian Ruble
      leaving Putin’s war machine rubless.
But as for Frida Kahlo … plucking?
Never‼️ I find that whispy upper
lip rather erogenous, and ever so
      slightly androgynous.
As for the unibrow, stupendous! 😎

    1. Frida’s ethereal brush strokes,
      I must admit,
keep me warm at night 😎💤
Just don’t tell my wife, Linda 🤫
      She’d have a pink fit 🩷
      Thanks for your sweet indulgence,
Karima 🙏 It makes my torment
      all worth it ❤️‍🩹

    1. Thank you, Cheryl 🙏
Having been a son of a playa
      on the Yucatan Peninsula
all I can say is Mexico ain’t that
far away for a Gulf Coast poet
Perhaps Frida will take me back
      one day and we’ll share
      a toast of tequila 😎

    1. You are a man of exquisite taste, John.
Once, at an exhibition of surrealism,
I actually (metaphysically) fell into a
rather large painting. It was by none
other than René Magritte, as I asked
for his name as he shouted for me to
get out of the picture frame 🖼️
The artwork in question was Magritte’s
      masterpiece, ‘Personal Values’ . . . so
      obviously I had inadvertently invaded
      his personal space 😎

    1. Frida died at just 47, so imagine
how much more she could’ve done.
A tragic loss to the art world, Liz.
Yet, she did manage to pack a lot in,
      professionally … and privately 🤔🕶️
(but only a voyeur would dwell
      on such things 😎)

      1. I did take a voyage once
        around the Mediterranean
        onboard the Costa Concordia 🚢
        I knew something was up
        (besides the anchor ⚓)
        when the Italian captain
        locked himself inside his cabin
        with some winsome fräulein
and the cruise ship began sinking 💦
Thanks for the reminder, Liz, of my
        voyageristic cruise ship trauma 🙏😎
I get sea sick just thinking about it 🤢🕶️

    1. Sister Christina was an artist in her own
right, and as we all know, when it comes
to romance, artists often don’t know their
left from right. So it makes it hard for
      them to do what’s right ⬅️ 🤔🕶️ ➡️
Diego just couldn’t keep it in his pants,
and that’s just plain wrong 🚫
Anyway, Frida did forgive Christina and
Diego. I think Frida was just too nice.
      Thanks for attending my exhibition
of masterpieces 🖼️ and dirty laundry 🧺

the Persians, stoicism is more my thing.
But when I go home at night, with a fresh

the Great), I get to forget I’m a Spartan ⚔️
and enjoy some home cooked hedonism
with Linda, my High Priestess of Sparta 😎
She makes me forget all about Frida Kahlo
… that is, until I start dreaming 💃😎💤

    1. She did achieve so much in her
tragically short life, in a time when
to even be considered as a serious
artist a woman required the approval
and patronage of a male. Even the
      term ‘Masterpiece’ has a masculine
connotation. But I guess the obvious
      alternative, ‘Mistresspiece’, is open
      to erroneous interpretation 🤔🕶️
Thanks for attending my Frida Kahlo
      exhibition, Cindy 🙏😎

    1. My Frida Friday pleasure, Resa 🙏😎
My wife, Linda, has a Frida Kahlo canvas
tote bag, bought at an art exhibition, that
she takes everywhere. I think, secretly,
she’s jealous of that glorious monobrow.
I even offered to pay for a hair transplant
at the Bosley Hair Clinic 💝
      She’s thinking about it 🤭🕶️

    1. Appreciated, Geoff 🙏

      My Art teacher
      Walked with a limp
      After his holiday in Vietnam
Having been shot in the foot
      His landscapes were spectacular
      So I learned his lesson
      And ran for my life
      Before being given the boot
