First it was the Mexican painter, Diego Rivera.

Whilst she drew breath, Diego
Rivera
was the love of Frida Kahlo’s life ๐
So much so, they got married twiceโ๏ธ

But Diego couldn’t keep his hands off Frida’s younger sister, Christina โ๐ค So, whilst Diego and Christina ๐จ๐๏ธ painted frescoes together, Frida did a fandango on her toes and danced out the door seeking a better lover ๐โค๏ธ
Next up was Comrade Leon Trotsky, Diego Rivera’s trotskyist mentor โ ๐จ๐ณ

Then off the bench came Andrรฉ Breton, the Godfather of Surreality. It didn’t last long, but then again, he was French. I guess it should’ve been Salvador Dali . . . as he is Spanish . . . but he was too busy keeping Gala happy.

So Frida fell head long into the adoring lens of Nicholas Muray, the New York photographer, as he busily took photos turning the artist into a work of art ๐ ๐ธ Nonetheless, Frida soon broke his heart ๐ as she sailed off to Paris and began an affair with Jacqueline Lamba, Andrรฉ Breton’s glamorous wife ๐ค๐ถ๏ธ

I think I could be happy with Frida ๐

Despite what her nocturnal visits . . .

. . . are doing to me ๐ Equally mysteriously . . .

Frida just keeps getting younger?

Like some Mexican jumping
bean Benjamin Button?! ๐ถ

Yet … in the twilight of my dream time Frida assures me we do have a future with all she’s seen between the curtains and the things water has given her ๐

San Pespi has given our nocturnal union
his necrophilous blessing ๐โ ๏ธ

above all showed her art with words

A wonderful tribute David. While she goes through her Benjamin Buttonesque life in your dreamverse, perhaps she’ll paint you the secret of youth and you’ll start growing younger too. Just when I think you’ve run out of creativity, the Redpath metaverse expands. You never cease to amaze me with your unique blog posts. Tbh I had to google Frida Kahlo. I know zilch about the fine arts except for Jackson Pollock and Salvatore Dali (who certainly wasn’t French ๐ ).

I don’t mean to baguette the French, Nitin.

Thanks for traversing the minutia of my
metaperverse. Without Multiple Michael’s
refurbished artwork ๐ผ๏ธ there wouldn’t be
much to look at.

A post all about a notorious hirsute
grooming cult led by Big Blue the
Muppet, a k.a. ‘The Cookie Monster’,
who smuggles exfoliated babushka
dolls, fully loaded with cookies,
from the Ukraine into Russia,
thus undermining the Russian Ruble
leaving Putin’s war machine rubless.
But as for Frida Kahlo … plucking?
Neverโผ๏ธ I find that whispy upper
lip rather erogenous, and ever so
slightly androgynous.
As for the unibrow, stupendous! ๐

You are a man of exquisite taste, John.
Once, at an exhibition of surrealism,
I actually (metaphysically) fell into a
rather large painting. It was by none
other than Renรฉ Magritte, as I asked
for his name as he shouted for me to
get out of the picture frame ๐ผ๏ธ
The artwork in question was Magritte’s
masterpiece, ‘Personal Values’ . . . so
obviously I had inadvertently invaded
his personal space ๐

That was fabulous, but blah on stupid Diego. She was far too good for him and her sister, don’t even. Traitors. Love Frida, everyone around her, not so much.

Sister Christina was an artist in her own
right, and as we all know, when it comes
to romance, artists often don’t know their
left from right. So it makes it hard for
them to do what’s right โฌ ๏ธ ๐ค๐ถ๏ธ โก๏ธ
Diego just couldn’t keep it in his pants,
and that’s just plain wrong ๐ซ
Anyway, Frida did forgive Christina and
Diego. I think Frida was just too nice.

She did achieve so much in her
tragically short life, in a time when
to even be considered as a serious
artist a woman required the approval
and patronage of a male. Even the
term ‘Masterpiece’ has a masculine
connotation. But I guess the obvious
alternative, ‘Mistresspiece’, is open
to erroneous interpretation ๐ค๐ถ๏ธ
